OLD FASHION FRY BREAD

2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. dried milk - powdered milk (unprepared)
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 c. warm water (Sometimes a little more or less is needed)

Combine dry ingredients, mix well, and then add warm water. Lightly knead dough. Dough should be soft (dough that is kneaded too much, will make tough bread). Sprinkle flour on cookie sheet or clean counter, pat dough out into circles and cut into pre-shaped wedges. Cut a slit in center of each. Fry quickly in hot fat or cooking oil until nicely browned.

Note: May substitute powdered milk and water with 1 1/2 c. of whole milk.

This is a family favorite!

Here are a few topping ideas; sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar, a little powdered sugar, top with honey butter or jelly.

Top with chili, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, salsa and sour cream for an entire meal.
